Culture of sharing and SUPPORT
The Global Entrepreneur Monitor (GEM) states that a lack of an entrepreneurially supportive culture was one of four factors significantly limiting the success of start up and new businesses. The Bandwidth Barn is addressing this by providing a networked environment that gives tenants access to a vibrant community of fellow entrepreneurs. The culture of sharing and support extends far beyond the tenants to the support staff.
The BWB has a two-pronged approach to supporting companies:
The first prong of the approach is that we lower the physical barriers of starting up a new business and mitigate the risks by ensuring companies are not bound to long term leases. We also offer:
- A potent mixture of big company facilities at small company prices
- Instant, quality office space in the heart of the city
- Competitive rental rates
- No lease contracts
- Professional reception services including telephones answered with your company name
- Meeting rooms and boardrooms at no extra cost
- Professional presentation facilities
- Shared fax and copier
- Discounted in-house tech support
- Flexible hotdesking
- Secure parking
- 24/7 internet connectivity
The Cape IT Initiative operates as a connection point between businesses, the government and individuals committed to growing the ICT sector in the Western Cape. By having access to this network, our tenants have a great chance at developing valuable contacts to support their long term success.
Learning events
It is important for small and medium business owners to keep abreast of business trends and industry issues. To facilitate this, the Bandwidth Barn management team in discussion with tenants arrange seminars, workshops and presentations on topics as diverse as tax planning, public relations and planning for innovation.
