MTN and Research In Motion have announced the availability of a prepaid BlackBerry service plan for MTN customers in South Africa. 

The Prepaid BlackBerry Internet Bundle service plan from MTN includes unlimited data usage for mobile e-mail for up to 10 supported corporate and personal email accounts, attachment viewing, Internet browsing, social networking, instant messaging and other mobile data applications for as little as R59.00 for a period of 30 days.

 "We are proud to partner with RIM to offer our customers the option of prepaid BlackBerry service plan,” says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer of MTN SA. “This pay-as-you-go offering extends the BlackBerry solution to MTN prepaid customers who want to access e-mails, the Internet, social networking sites and other applications from their BlackBerry smartphones, without sacrificing the flexibility of a prepaid subscription.”
Deon Liebenberg, regional director for Sub-Sahara Africa at RIM, commented: "We look forward to expanding our presence in the South African market with this new offering. With its prepaid BlackBerry service plan, MTN can expand the reach of the BlackBerry solution to an even broader audience in South Africa."
